B. Smith and Her Diagnosis of Alzheimer's

For nearly four years, B. Smith was repeating things, or not being responsive to a question. There were misunderstandings, and she told her doctor how severe it was before she told her husband. Eventually, she saw a team of experts at The Mount Sinai Hospital, including Martin Goldstein, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine. "There seems to be a greater degree of atrophy, shrinkage of the hippocampus here," said Dr. Goldstein.
