 – August 9, 2013  ––

Right now autism is diagnosed based on certain behaviors, and doctors do not have a black and white test that can say yes, this is autism. Now, a trial is underway to see if a blood test can help diagnose autism earlier and faster. "We're looking for a biological signature that distinguishes people with developmental delays other than autism and people with autism," said Alexander Kolevzon, MD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, and the Principal Investigator at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
