Mount Sinai's Instructional Technology group provides services and resources to support the school's teaching mission. We provide technical support and assistance in the development, implementation and evaluation of web-based instructional resources in Mount Sinai's educational programs. We work directly with faculty to create custom content to supplement courses and develop trainings to meet the needs of instructors and their support staff.
The Blackboard system allows instructors and staff to:
- provide a centralized place to store course materials: syllabi, lecture notes, links to lecture videos
- engage with their students
- develop custom course material
- make announcements to their classes
- manage grades
- communicate and collaborate with colleagues
- share documents
- create new content
Instructional Resource Development
We work with faculty to design and develop custom course content and educational modules that can explain complex ideas. These modules offer students an opportunity to practice what they have learned or quiz themselves on concepts relevant to their course. We can help through all stages of course development—instructional design, content development, and web delivery.
We offer hands-on training to faculty in one-on-one, small group, and classroom environments. The training covers the use of the course management system, collaboration tools, file compression, and other "teaching with technology" topics.
