Life in the Spin Cycle

Documentary about life on the Dialysis Unit

 – July 8, 2011 /Press Release/  ––

We are proud to announce the online world premiere of "Life in the Spin Cycle", a documentary by Brian Radbill, MD and Arzhang Fallahi, MD about what life on dialysis is really like for five patients at the Mount Sinai Kidney Center's 94th Street Hemodialysis Unit.

What was originally intended to be a short film designed to better inform Mount Sinai medical students and trainees about the hardships faced by this unique patient population has transformed into a moving portrait of chronically ill patients accepting a disease that need not define them. Given the rising incidence and prevalence of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease, it is increasingly likely providers will encounter patients like those featured in this film. However, the stories they tell and their struggles are clearly not disease-specific and are shared by many outpatients with chronic illness.
