Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Overview

The Mount Sinai Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility delivers patient care through Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York, LLP (RMA of New York). RMA of New York is committed providing efficacious patient care through utilization of the most advanced techniques and laboratory protocols, resulting in highly successful patient outcomes. All members of the faculty are committed to the advancement of this field of medicine as is demonstrated through the significant research performed by the team.

The Director of the Division of Reproductive Medicine and Infertility, Alan B. Copperman, MD, is a Clinical Professor of and Vice Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science. In addition, other members of RMA of New York, Drs. Lawrence Grunfeld, Tanmoy Mukherjee, Benjamin Sandler, Natan Bar Chama and Jane Ruman are all faculty members at the Icahn School of Medicine. RMA of New York laboratory directors, Jason Barritt, PhD and Marlena Duke, MSc also hold academic appointments at the School of Medicine.

The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility includes sub specialized faculty physicians and research scientists with expertise in the treatment and study of female reproductive disorders, endocrinology and physiology. The mission is to maintain excellent patient care through world-class innovative research and education. Within the Division, Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York operates a full-service infertility center and specializes in female and male infertility as well as female gynecological conditions, such as endometriosis, fibroids, premature ovarian failure and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Supported by a strong departmental commitment to basic and translational research, the board certified subspecialty trained academic clinicians, clinician scientists, and translational/basic scientists within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology maintain clinical and research focus on female reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

RMA of New York maintains an in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory and all associated services, such as endocrinology and andrology laboratories. RMA of New York physicians are highly experienced in patient management, diagnostic imaging, embryology, andrology, and third-party reproduction. RMA of New York performs office based outpatient procedures used for oocyte retrievals, D&Cs and urologic procedures. The IVF laboratory is equipped to perform assisted hatching, ICSI and embryo biopsy. In addition to gynecologic services, psychology and urology services are also available at RMA of New York. More invasive surgical procedures are performed at the Mount Sinai Hospital.
