Cryogenic Facility for Viable Cell Storage
The Department maintains a state-of-the-art cryogenics facility for the long-term storage of cell lines by Mount Sinai investigators. Deposit and delivery of cells as well as viable freezing of cells for investigators is provided on a regularly scheduled basis. A safety deposit box, which contains space for 81 individual vials, is available for $60.00 per year, and discounts for larger needs can be negotiated. This service can provide back-up to investigators who have their own freezers or serve as the primary means of viable cell storage.
