Please join us for this groundbreaking opportunity to discuss the future of child health in New York State and beyond. The New York State Pediatric Advocacy Conference is a two-day event targeted at providers, trainees and community-based organizations working to improve the health of children in NYS through professional training, program development and legislative action. Pediatrics is the focus, but the conference welcomes all specialties serving children and families. The conference emphasizes preventive and community-based strategies, upstream thinking, and innovative ways of implementing evidence-based programs. Out-of-state attendees are also welcome for the purposes of sharing ideas and developing partnerships.

The keynote speaker is Jeff Kaczorowski from Rochester, NY who is director of the Community Physicians Training Initiative (CPTI) at the American Academy of Pediatrics, and who is the director of the not-for-profit Children’s Agenda.

Sessions include: multi-institution panels on implementing advocacy curricula and project development, trainee presentations on current works, lectures on environmental health and legislative advocacy, and small group sessions with experts sharing advice on partnerships, funding, sustainability and efficacy.

Contact leora.mogilner@mountsinai.org or cappy.collins@mssm.edu for more information, or to submit poster abstracts from medical students, residents, fellows or trainees from other disciplines.
