How to Apply
We seek trainees who are likely to pursue and succeed in academic careers in drug abuse research. All candidates will be expected to show a strong interest and evidence of commitment to drug abuse research, as well as an outstanding academic background. Postdoctoral research trainees can apply to individual investigators whose research is of interest to them.
Eligibility: Postdoctoral fellows who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with suitable research interests.
Period of appointment: A postdoctoral trainee is guaranteed two years of support (with an additional year based on need and availability) to ensure that sufficient time is available for significant research training and accomplishment.
Dr. Lakshmi A. Devi is Professor of the Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics, Psychiatry and Neuroscience Departments. She is the Dean for Academic Development and Enrichment as well as Director of the Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Training Program in Drug Abuse Research.
Dr. Yasmin L. Hurd is a Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, and Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics and the Ward-Coleman Chair in Translational Research. She is also the Director of the Center for Addictive Disorders at the Mount Sinai Behavioral Health System. Her multidisciplinary molecular, pharmacological and behavioral research integrates translational preclinical and clinical laboratory studies.
