How to Apply
We seek trainees who are likely to pursue and succeed in academic careers in drug abuse research. All candidates will be expected to show a strong interest and evidence of commitment to drug abuse research, as well as an outstanding academic background. Postdoctoral research trainees can apply to individual investigators whose research is of interest to them.
Eligibility: Postdoctoral fellows who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with suitable research interests.
Period of appointment: A postdoctoral trainee is guaranteed two years of support (with an additional year based on need and availability) to ensure that sufficient time is available for significant research training and accomplishment.
Dr. Lakshmi A. Devi is Professor of the Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics, Psychiatry and Neuroscience Departments. She is the Dean for Academic Development and Enrichment as well as Director of the Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Training Program in Drug Abuse Research.
Dr. Yasmin Hurd is Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, Neuroscience and Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics. She is also the Director of the Center for Addictive Disorders.
Dr. Susana Neves is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics. Her research focuses in understanding how certain inhomogeneities in signaling events (called signaling microdomains) contribute to signal specificity in neuronal transmission.
