Teaching Opportunities

Becoming a good teacher is an important part of liaison psychiatry and takes both practice and skill. Fellows have ample opportunities throughout the year to teach medical colleagues, residents, and medical students. Fellows supervise medical students as well as psychiatry residents rotating through the consultation psychiatry service and provide at least four in-service lectures for the medical surgical teams.

Fellows are also encouraged to teach in the weekly consultation psychiatry seminar for the second-year psychiatry residents as well as the formal didactics for the third-year medical student clerkship. Additional teaching opportunities through the medical student and residency programs are available.
