The Neuroscience Graduate Training Program

Welcome to Mount Sinai's Neuroscience graduate training program! Recognized as one of the preeminent Neuroscience training programs in the country, the Neuroscience department ranks 4th nationally in funding from the National Institutes of Health. We provide a rigorous, multidisciplinary and highly collaborative research training program that combines a thorough grounding in molecular, cellular and systems neuroscience with critical thinking skills and innovative approaches required for cutting-edge research in basic, translational and clinical Neuroscience. Our program leverages the close partnership between the Icahn School of Medicine and the Mount Sinai Hospital to provide an extraordinary diversity of scientific and clinical strengths, fostered by close synergy across Departments, Centers and Institutes, including Neuroscience, The Friedman Brain Institute, The Brain Imaging Center, Psychiatry, Neurology, Genetics and Genomic Sciences, The Institute for Genetics and Multiscale Biology, Geriatrics, Neurosurgery, Pharmacology and Systems Therapeutics, the Black Family Stem Cell Institute and Rehabilitation Medicine. Additionally, our recent partnership with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) will facilitate drug discovery, and the invention of advanced diagnostic tools and novel treatments in the neurosciences.
