For thousands of families affected by Hurricane Sandy, the long process of renovating and rebuilding is further complicated by the possibility of environmental contaminants in the home.
"We're still trying to quantify the impact of Sandy in terms of environmental health, but in the meantime we're concerned about children developing respiratory illnesses due to the cold, wet and moldy surroundings that many families are living in," says Dr. Natasha Anushri Anandaraja from The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
