Staying healthy both physically and mentally is important to maintaining your work schedule and keeping up with your career goals. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) is dedicated to providing you with the resources you need to accomplish this.  

Student and Trainee Mental Health Program

The Student and Trainee Mental Health Program (STMH) offers a wide range of mental health services for our postdoctoral fellows including initial consultation, psychotherapy, counseling, medication management, and referrals. Psychiatrists and psychologists are available during regular business hours and on some evenings during the week. To make an appointment, email stmh@mssm.edu or call 212-659-8805 between 9 am and 5 pm.

We also have a dedicated 24/7 support and crisis hotline number that provides crisis help, mental health support, and information about referrals. The hotline phone number is 212-241-2400 (or 1-866-339-7725.

If you have an emergency, go to the Emergency Room, call 911, or contact the psychiatrist on-call via the page operator at 212-241-5581.

Fitness and Well Being

Living in New York City has so many advantages, access to parks and recreation areas among them. ISMMS is lucky to be located within easy reach of many places where you can exercise, work out, play sports, meditate, and buy fresh, nutritious food, some of it grown and produced within easy reach of the city.

YPass

The Postdoc Office and the Graduate School have arranged to have free one-day passes to the 92nd Street Y, an outstanding health, fitness, and sports facility, located at 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue. Each month, the registration link will be updated for the Y Pass registration. Instructions concerning the registration link for the Y Pass will be sent out on the Postdoc Listserv every month.
