Biography

    Adekemi Akingboye, MD is a board certified attending physician in the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai Roosevelt and Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

    Dr. Akingboye received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center. She completed her medical internship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital and returned to SUNY- Downstate Medical Center to complete her residency.

    As an attending and clinical instructor with Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, Mount Sinai Roosevelt and Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Dr. Akingboye has contributed to the education of residents and medical students in dermatology. She also serves as a consultant for the Institutional Review Board of Mount Sinai.
    Through her years of training and practice, Dr. Akingboye has participated in researches that focused on patient of color, acne and telemedicine. Publications include-Skin-Influencing Factors in Daily Life included in the text, Integrative Dermatology

    Dr. Akingboye is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women’s Dermatologic Society and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She is also a member of the Skin of Color Society and is on the organization website and newsletter Committee.
