- Dr. Calin S. Moucha is is the Associate Chief of Joint Replacement Surgery in The Peter and Leni May Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. A Board Certified, Fellowship trained hip & knee replacement specialist, he joined Mount Sinai after almost 6 years as the Chief of the Adult Joint Replacement & Reconstruction Division in the Department of Orthopaedics of New Jersey Medical School, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Moucha completed his undergraduate education at Cornell University and then earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, an affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and then did a fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. During his time at Rush he worked with world-renowned surgeons Jorge Galante, Aaron Rosenberg, Wayne Paprosky, and Joshua Jacobs. In addition, he worked closely with Dr. Richard Berger, a preeminent innovator of minimally invasive joint replacement surgery. Dr. Moucha enjoys caring for patients requiring primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He has a particular interest in the treatment of prosthetic joint infections and periprosthetic fractures and in studying the role of minimally invasive joint replacement surgery and computer navigation. Serving on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon's Patient Safety Committee he is always looking for methods of improving patient outcomes and diminish complications.
