Dr. Christian Bannerman, MD is an attending physician at Queens Hospital Center’s Department of emergency medicine, an affiliate of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He joined the faculty in 2008 during which time assumed responsibility of Physician Assistant Education Director. During his tenure, orchestrated an Emergency Medicine fellowship for new Physician Assistants. Presently, Dr. Bannerman is the Director for the Urgent Care Center. In less than two years, a pilot program to improve time to provider has improved significantly based on a modified triage bypass system under his leadership. He currently directs the hospital wide ACLS/PALS courses. As part of a community outreach program, Dr Bannerman allows shadowing of college and high school students interested in a career in medicine. He also goes into the local high schools and gives lectures to high school students allowing fostering of mentor/mentee relationships.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
