- Dr. Ozbay serves as the Medical Director of the World Trade Center Mental Health Program, which provides psychiatric assessment and treatment services to rescue, recovery and cleanup workers with mental health conditions due to their exposure to the WTC disaster site. Dr. Ozbay joined Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2007 after completing his residency training in General Adult Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. During his training, Dr. Ozbay served as the Chief Resident of the National Center for PTSD, Clinical Neurosciences Division at the West Haven VA Medical Center. Dr. Ozbay is the recipient of the Mentored Patient Oriented Research Training Grant and the NARSAD Young Investigator Award for his research in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and stress resilience. As an expert in the field of traumatic stress, he has peer-reviewed scientific projects for the Israel Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Defense. He has recently authored a chapter on neurobiology of stress in the book “The Hidden Epidemic: The Impact of Early Life Trauma on Health and Disease” published by the Cambridge University Press.
