Biography
- Dr. Leanza is a practicing family physician board-certified in both family
and adolescent medicine. He is the Director of the Harlem Residency in Family Medicine and served as core faculty to the Institute for Family Health’s Beth
Israel Residency in Urban Family Practice from 2005-2012. Dr. Leanza is a member of
the Society of Adolescent Medicine and participates in the Adolescent
Reproductive and Sexual Health Education Project (ARSHEP) in collaboration with
the Physicians for Reproductive Choice. In addition, he works with NYC based
non-profit Cicatelli Associates as a consultant on implementation of best
practices in adolescent reproductive health services.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
