- Dr. Gaveras received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, ME before moving back to NY to complete her residency at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital. After completing training, she remained at this institution and is currently the Director of Training and Education at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital. She is also the Director of the Consultation Liaison Service in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals and Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine. She is also board certified in Addiction Medicine and trained in the Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions Service at the William Alanson White Institute. While education remains her primary focus, her clinical interests lie mainly in the treatment of adolescents and young adults with co-occurring substance abuse and eating disorders.
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
