Biography

    Dr. McGinty joined Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in 2003 after completing his fellowship training in Minimal Access and Bariatric Surgery at Columbia and Cornell Universities. Dr. McGinty currently serves as Vice Chairman for the Department of Surgery, Chief of the Division of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery. His academic appointment is Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai.

    Dr. McGinty strives to improve patient care through education of surgeons-in-training. In 2003, he introduced simulation technology to the residency training program. He has co-authored multiple research papers and is Co-PI on an NIH grant. He has presented his work on the national and international level. Dr. McGinty is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of multiple professional societies. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
