Dr. John Aljian is a Fellowship-trained, Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in Cataract/New Technology Intraocular Lens Surgery, Cornea Transplantation, Severe Eye Trauma Surgery, and Laser Surgery. He is Chief of the Eye Trauma Service of The NY Eye & Ear Infirmary which serves the NY Metro Area. He is a dedicated medical educator and instructs Resident Physicians in cataract, corneal, eye trauma, and laser surgery. He has received numerous awards for his surgical teaching including the prestigious John Herman, MD Award. Dr. Aljian holds an academic appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the New York Medical College. Dr. Aljian serves on the Board of the New York Society for Clinical Ophthalmology, and is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
