Dr. Lauren Peccoralo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at ISSMS. Dr. Peccoralo received her M.D. and Masters in Public Health as well as completed her residency, chief residency and general medicine fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine (formerly the Mount Sinai School of Medicine). She joined the faculty at Mount Sinai's Division of General Medicine in 2011.
She is currently the Program Director and Founder of the Primary Care Track in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. The program was founded in 2010 and she has developed much of its clinical and educational curriculum. In addition, she is the Medical Director of the Collaborative Care Program for Depression and the Co-director of the Behavioral Health Integrated Services in the Internal Medicine Associates, programs which aim to integrate behavioral and physical health in the primary care setting and reduce the burden of mental illness in primary care patients.
Dr. Peccoralo's career interests include primary care workforce development and training, integration of behavioral and physical healthcare and innovations and training in medical education. She has presented her work in these topics at regional and national meetings and has published articles in major medical journals. Dr. Peccoralo's clinical interests include chronic disease management such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, preventative care, weight management, as well as depression and anxiety.
