Biography
- Dr. Kaufmann currently serves as the ASDS Advisor to the RUC (RVS Update Committee). He was an early adopter of electronic medical records, and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Dermatology Criteria Work Group for the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology(CCHIT). He also serves as a physician juror for the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology, as well as on the American Academy of Dermatology’s HealthCare Finance Committee, Practice Management Task Force, and the new Innovations in Payment and Delivery Workgroup(IPD). He also represents the American Academy of Dermatology at the national meetings of the Physician’s Electronic Health Record Coalition (PEHRC) as well as the Clinical Information Interchange Collaborative (CIIC). He has been a frequent national lecturer, and has had many articles recently published on the topic of health information technology.
Dr. Kaufmann is a contributing editor to Practical Dermatology and serves on the editorial boards of The Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, as well as The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
