Biography
- Dr. Adler completed his post doctoral training in Primary Care Internal Medicine in 1982 at Mount Sinai's affiliate, the City Hospital Center at Elmhurst. He has been on the full time faculty of The Mount Sinai Medical Center since completing his residency training program, first at Elmhurst Hospital in the Department of Ambulatory Care and since 1986, in the Division of General Internal Medicine at eht Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Adler is the co-director of the Out-Patient Curriculum for Mount Sinai's Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. In the formal curriculum, his teaching is focused on the three different areas: Evidence Based Medicine, how to routinely screen patients for diabetes and alcohol use, and about the doctor-patient relationship. He also teaches internal medicine residents to care for patients in the out-patient setting.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
