Hair Transplants

Dr. Unger made the surprising discovery in several patients that hair transplanted into areas of alopecia areata successfully produced lasting hair growth. She is currently conducting research to further understand how this process may work and which patients may be acceptable candidates for such a treatment.

She is investigating the use of platelet rich plasma therapy (PRP) to slow periods of acute telogen effluvium and Acell for wound healing and improved scar formation.

The most exciting research under investigation is a patented hair preservation technique which will soon be available for general patients.
