- Todd Simon M.D. FACP graduated from Amherst College in 1987 where he majored in Neuroscience. He obtained his M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1991, and went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Simon has been on the full-time faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai since 1994. He currently holds the administrative position of "Practice Chief" of the 2North practice at Internal Medicine Associates, which is the hospital-based ambulatory adult medicine site for Mount Sinai. Dr. Simon's responsibilities combine direct patient care, house staff supervision, teaching, administration, and occasional clinical research. His interest in education began in earnest in 1995-1996, when he worked part-time in the Office of Student Affairs at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. There, Dr. Simon created and directed a primary care community based preceptorship for the first and second year medical students. In May, 2000 he completed a fellowship in medical education at the University of Southern California, and is currently working on his Masters degree in Education. His major educational interest is in helping medical residents to improve their clinical teaching skills.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device and biotechnology companies to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their relationships with such companies.
