Description

The purpose of this study is to compare two different types of treatment for blocked arteries in the heart. The first treatment is called CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft) surgery where a surgeon puts new vessels into the heart to get around a blocked artery. The second type of treatment is the use of x-ray guided wires to open up the blocked arteries from the inside and then to place a small flexible metal tube (stent) in the heart that will allow blood to flow through.
