Description
The purpose of this study is to compare the motor functioning of three groups of adults ages 18-40. The groups include individuals with high functioning autism or Asperger’s disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and individuals without disabilities. Because motor skills can affect important developmental skills (e.g. speech, imitation, activities of daily living), clarifying the nature of motor deficits in ASD can have implications for improving treatment specificity, understanding neuroanatomical structures involved in ASD, and for improving overall functional outcomes. Factors that influence performance on motor tasks such as attention, organizational skills, and memory are also evaluated.
