Description
The ability to speak involves a complex brain system that is not fully understood. Parkinson's disease can interfere with the ability to speak. This research is studying the effects of Parkinson's Disease and a form of treatment known as Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) of an areas of the brain, the sub-thalamic nuclei (STB) and the ability to speak to better understand the process and how DBS effects speech.
