Description
The purpose of this study is to see whether different types of exercise and nutritional interventions will improve the ability to make insulin.The study will examine if educating children as to healthy diets and teaching them how to exercise in a manner that is fun, helps decrease the likelihood that they will develop type 2 diabetes. The investigators would also like to investigate if this diet and exercise education program will improve the health of all the children, even those who have no tendency towards diabetes. The exercise program consists of physical education classes and science classes which will teach students about healthy eating.
