Description
The Mount Sinai Eating and Weight Disorders Program is conducting a study for adolescents who are overweight or obese. The purpose of this study is to evaluate two study interventions for overweight adolescents, a family based study intervention and a nutritional education study intervention. The study will test if the study interventions are effective for reducing weight or preventing weight gain in overweight or at-risk for being overweight adolescents. Participation in the study is at no cost to the individual and involves 16 sessions of one of the two interventions. If a child is 13-17 years old and is medically stable, s/he may be eligible to participate.
