Description
The purpose of this study is to use non-invasive ways of looking at coronary arteries to understand the relationship between the amount of plaque (fatty deposits) and the inflammation of these arteries and how these two conditions might predict coronary heart disease and stroke in the future. The types of imaging used in this study are MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and FDG-PET (fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography) scans which are able to take images non-invasively to look at the coronary arteries over time.
