American Legacy Smoking Cessation Study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of alternative smoking cessation (quitting smoking) techniques in current smokers who receive a low-dose CT scan of the chest. This study will also assess presence of lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cardiac disease, and other diseases in current smokers through the use of computed tomographic (CT) examination . Subjects may qualify to take part in this research study if they are at least 50 years old and have smoked at least one cigarette in the past 30 days.
