Description

Coil embolization is an established treatment option for those with cerebral aneurysms. Treatment requires the use of multiple coils to occlude the aneurysm. Over time due to compaction of the coils recanalization of the aneurysm occurs and patients may require retreatment. We are interested in investigating the relationship of packing density of cerebral aneurysms to aneurysm recurrence. An analysis of the packing densities among treated aneurysms will be conducted to determine the packing density that is most effective in occluding the aneurysm and will minimize recanalization and retreatment.
