Description

The purpose of this study is to see if keeping the level of oxygen in a patient's brain within a certain range will increase the chance that his/her mental functions will remain the same or improve after the operation. The machine being used to monitor the patient's oxygen level is called FORE SIGHT. It is FDA approved for use in monitoring the amount of oxygen in the brain but is not part of routine care at Mount Sinai.
