Description

The purpose of this study is to confirm the feasibility of DNA isolation of Varicella zoster virus (VZV), the agent of chickenpox, zoster and related complications, from archived pathology tissues. Analysis of VZV DNA from geographically and temporally diverse sources might help fill in many gaps in our understanding of the progression of VZV over time and its geographical distribution.
