Description

The purpose of the study is to develop a predictive model for early extubation in the OR in children presenting for congenital heart surgery. We will consider each child greater than two weeks of age presenting for surgery without endotracheal tube in situ (mechanically ventilated) for inclusion in this study. The clinical care of the child will not be altered. After the surgery is concluded, the anesthesiologist will complete a form that will identify factors and their weight in the decision making process.
