The objective of the EXCITE ISR Trial is to gather data regarding the safety and effectiveness of performing Excimer Laser Atherectomy (ELA) with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) for the treatment of in-stent restenosis. These results will be compared to treatment with PTA alone.  The expected benefit of performing ELA is to actually vaporize (remove) the tissue blocking the artery, and therefore create a larger opening in the blocked vessel than would be created with PTA alone. Removing the blockage may decrease symptoms, speed the healing process of any related wounds, reduce the chance of having to have another procedure, and reduce the risk of the condition worsening.
