Mount Sinai Institute of Technology
Mount Sinai Institute of Technology (MSIT) was founded in December 2013 to discover, design, develop, and deliver technology-based solutions to critical open problems in biomedical science. MSIT is neither a pure discovery organization nor a pure application organization, but sits at the intersection of these two areas.
This approach leverages the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s (ISMMS) basic research institutes as well as its health and disease-related institutes and clinical departments.
Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the diagnosis and treatment of human disease and the ISMMS is committed to developing novel biomedical technologies that can benefit patients. The School of Medicine, including the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, is recruiting additional students and faculty with expertise in quantitative sciences such as engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics, as well as other non-traditional backgrounds. These new recruits will help drive translational research initiatives using new tools, models, and approaches.
MSIT emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, bringing together scientists, physicians, designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs. We also partner with industry, academia, foundations, and government to help shape public policies affecting biomedical technology development worldwide.
