Christina Wyatt, MD is a clinical investigator with an interest in HIV-related kidney disease. She is currently supported by an NIH K23 award to study the epidemiology of kidney disease in patients with HIV and HIV Hepatitis C co-infection, and she is an investigator on two studies seeking to validate available GFR estimates in HIV-positive patients in the United States and sub-Saharan Africa.
She serves as a co-investigator on the clinical core of a P01 investigating the pathogenesis of HIV associated nephropathy, and as co-PI on a Department of Medicine Global Health grant investigating the prevalence of proteinuria in HIV-infected pregnant women in Cameroon.
Dr. Wyatt is also the nephrology consultant for the Microbicide Trial Network’s VOICE protocol, which is investigating oral and topical approaches to pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV among sexually active women in sub-Saharan Africa.
