Where to Go
Birth Visits:
Birth visits will be conducted in your hospital room at the Birth Place between 12 – 24 hours after birth. The UMN Study Staff will come to your room with all needed equipment, and the exam will last about 30 minutes. For more information on the Birth Place, visit The University of Minnesota Medical Center website. For more information on the University Specialists in Women’s Health, or the providers, visit their website.
One-Year Exam:
The one-year exam will be conducted between 11-13 months after birth on the 2nd floor of the University of Minnesota’s 717 Delaware St. Building, located on the East Bank of campus. Free parking is provided behind the building for study participants. You will be contacted by the UMN Study Staff 4-6 weeks prior to schedule a time for the visit. These visits will last approximately 30 minutes.
Directions for 717 Delaware St. SE:
Washington Ave. SE will be closed for construction of the Central Corridor Light Rail line throughout 2013 and 2014 – these directions are for the alternative route to 717 Delaware St. Building and bypass the use of Washington Ave. SE.
From 94W or 94E, take the Huron Blvd. Exit (Exit 235B), and stay straight to go onto Huron Blvd. SE. Next turn left onto Fulton St. SE (the first light after exiting the interstate), and take a right to turn onto SE Oak St. The 717 Delaware St. Building is located on the corner of Delaware St. SE and Oak St. SE. Pull into the parking lot to your left about a half-block past the intersection of Oak and Delaware, immediately before you hit Washington Ave. SE. These parking spaces are reserved for study participants and will require a pass from the front desk, located on the first floor of the building.
