Chemical Safety: Carcinogens and Toxic Chemicals

Included within the purview of the MSSM Institutional Biosafety Officer’s responsibilities is the surveillance and recommendation of safe practices for using carcinogens, toxic chemicals and toxins derived from microorganisms, plants and animals.
This section of the Institutional Biosafety Program web-site will serve as a clearing house for information on chemical safety issues, and provide guidelines and standards issued by the US EPA, OSHA, and the various agencies of the US Health and Human Services having regulatory jurisdiction over the use of chemicals.
