The purpose of the Research Administration Reengineering Program is to remove obstacles to initiating research; simplify and expedite the research protocol submission process; and increase the support and satisfaction of Mount Sinai's research faculty and staff. The following announcements describe some of the notable projects that were launched as part of this initiative.

The Agreement Navigator Tool has been developed to provide faculty, administrators, grant managers and research staff with a quick reference for routing and obtaining approvals for various types of agreements, including consulting, service and industry sponsored research agreements.

Enhanced Approval Process for Using Radiation in Research
A new management plan for Radiation Safety streamlines the approval process for investigators using ionizing radiation in research projects. The new process includes the "Dosimetry Wizard," a useful tool that determines what level of radiation oversight review is necessary and provides investigators with exact language to insert into their consent forms.
Clinical Research Forum
The Clinical Research Forum has been established to facilitate ongoing communication between clinical research personnel and the administrative offices that regulate and process research projects.

Financial Administration of Clinical Trials Services (FACTS)
The Financial Administration of Clinical Trials Services (FACTS) office has been established to assist investigators and research personnel with the pre-award submission process and the post-award management of industry funded clinical trials.

The purpose of GARC is to improve the grant application experience for faculty and staff by making a wide variety of resources easily accessible to them.
Ideate – New Electronic Research Administration System
Mount Sinai is implementing a new electronic research administration system called Ideate to simplify and expedite the research application submission process.
