The Mount Sinai Health System has established The Spine Hospital at Mount Sinai, the first of its kind in New York City.  Located at The Mount Sinai Hospital, it offers personalized care for spinal disorders by leading spine experts using the newest technologies and proven treatments.

“The Spine Hospital at Mount Sinai offers an integrative approach to spinal care, with state of the art evaluations and treatments for a full range of conditions that can occur throughout a patient’s life,” said Kenneth L. Davis, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System. “The Spine Hospital also provides patients direct access to our larger Health System and furthers our mission of providing the highest levels of quality care.”

“At the Spine Hospital at Mount Sinai, care begins with a comprehensive evaluation followed by a detailed explanation of our findings and recommendations for the most effective treatment and post-treatment care,” said Andrew Hecht, MD, Chief of Spine Surgery for the Mount Sinai Health System and Chief of Spine Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital.  “Patients will experience the seamless coordination of all clinical, patient education and support services that are hallmarks of spine care at Mount Sinai.  We emphasize conservative care and the least invasive approaches when possible.”

Located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, The Spine Hospital at Mount Sinai brings together orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons, neurologists and pain management physicians.  In addition, the staff features rheumatologists, physical therapists, acupuncturists and chiropractors to help provide the most non-surgical care options.

Specialists will treat the full spectrum of problems affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine and that include disc disease and disc herniations, spinal stenosis, fractures, tumors, inflammatory conditions, myelopathy, radiculopathy, infections, and failed back. The Hospital also offers a range of therapies and surgery options for back pain, neck pain and spinal disorders.

“Through their affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine, the surgeons and physicians within the Spine Hospital will continue to pursue research that translates directly into superior patient care,” said Dennis S. Charney, MD, Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Dean of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and President for Academic Affairs for the Mount Sinai Health System.

“We are proud to be home to the city’s first comprehensive Spine Hospital, which continues our mission to provide outstanding care to New Yorkers and beyond,” said David Reich, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Mount Sinai Hospital.
