Goldie Alfasi, PhD

Dr. Goldie Alfasi is Director of the Behavioral Science Curriculum at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Medicine. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York and completed post doctoral research fellowships at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center. She completed her internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Alfasi teaches psychosocial aspects of health and illness. She also has a private psychotherapy practice with children, adolescents, and adults. She has explored mother-infant interactions, feeding difficulties, and failure-to-thrive syndrome. Her current research is on breastfeeding in African-American mothers.
