Mauli Desai, M.D. is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of allergic and immunologic disorders in adults and children. These conditions include, but are not limited to, allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, urticaria, food allergy, and drug allergy.
Dr. Desai is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. She earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY, at which time she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Dr. Desai completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, followed by a year of pulmonary/critical care training. She went on to complete her fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Rutgers University, where she served as Chief Fellow. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Desai is active in many medical professional societies, including the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and she holds several professional leadership positions. Notably, she is the current President of the New Jersey Allergy Society. Dr. Desai is on the editorial board of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and has published articles related to asthma.
