Paulina Pawlica, PhD
- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR | Microbiology
Research Topics:Biochemistry, Gene Regulation, RNA, Viruses and Virology
Dr. Pawlica is a molecular virologist with an expertise in RNA biology. Her research group uses a combination of molecular virology, RNA biochemistry and bioinformatics to answer fundamental, mechanistic questions with regards to the involvement of small non-coding RNAs in viral infections. Specifically, the Pawlica lab studies how herpesviruses use ncRNAs to increase oncogenic potential, as well as functions of newly discovered miRNA-like RNA expressed by SARS-CoV-2.
