Virgil A Hatcher

Virgil A Hatcher, MD

Virgil Hatcher, MD is a board-certified dermatologist at Mount Sinai Doctors, seeing patients on Monday - Friday in Chelsea and Midtown. Trained in San Francisco and New York City, he is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He was awarded his medical degree from the University of California - San Francisco and completed his residency in Dermatology and a fellowship in Virology at New York University’s School of Medicine. This fellowship led to published works relating to Acyclovir, HIV-associated Kaposi’s sarcoma, HIV-related skin infections, and basic science investigations with adenoviruses. He plans to continue his research in skin manifestations related to HIV, HSV, and HPV infections, as he feels these disorders have profound psycho-social consequences. He has recently been involved in clinical research studies for acne, psoriasis, and eczema. Dr. Hatcher uses a broad range of cosmetic techniques, such as laser hair removal, laser resurfacing, botulinum toxin, fillers, and intense pulse light therapy to correct and enhance the skin. He is a firm believer in maintenance-and preventative skincare, along with a lifelong dedication to sun protection.
