Dr. Yakov "Jake" Gologorsky is an Associate Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery. He is a conservative surgeon and will recommend surgery only when no other recourse is available. And, if surgery is necessary, he uses modern, minimally invasive techniques to minimize time in the hospital and maximize recovery.

Dr. Gologorsky completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Chemistry. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with top honors and as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Gologorsky finished his residency in neurological surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. During his residency, he completed a fellowship in Functional, Stereotactic, and Restorative Neurosurgery with an emphasis on the treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and Essential Tremor with Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).

After his residency, Dr. Gologorsky pursued a fellowship in minimally invasive spine surgery at the prestigious Brigham and Women’s Hospital of the Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Gologorsky continues to present at major national and international neurosurgical spine conferences and has published more than 30 articles in various medical journals. He was awarded the Kalmon D. Post Research Prize for Excellence and Scholarship in Neurosurgery during his residency.

Dr. Gologorsky is involved in medical teaching and was given the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award in Humanism and Excellence in Teaching by medical staff and students. He is an active member of multiple neurosurgical societies, both on a local and national level.
