Searching for Mutant Genes

 – June 19, 2014  ––

Elissa Levin, MD, Assistant Professor of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at The Mount Sinai Hospital, recently appeared on Canada AM to discuss how the group is trying to track down anyone with genetic mutations that keep them healthy. “We know there are lots of people that have rare genetic mutations, but for some reason have been protected from actually exhibiting the disease,” said Dr. Levin. “We believe that if we can find these people, we can further study them to really understand what’s protecting them.”
