The Telegraph (United Kingdom) - Epigenetics: How to Alter Your Genes - Chris Bell

 – October 16, 2013  ––

We've long been told our genes are our destiny. But it's now thought they can be changed by habit, lifestyle, even finances. What does this mean for our children? A good example comes from research by Rachel Yehuda, PhD. She found that mothers who were in their second or third trimester on the day of the 9/11 attacks were far more likely to give birth to stressed-out infants - i.e. children who reacted with unusual levels of fear and stress when faced with loud noises, unfamiliar people, or new foods.
